Last Thursday just after I got home from work, Paul went out to get the mail. We have lots of big trees in our front yard and just as he's walking up the driveway he almost gets hit with a roll of toilet paper that had come flying over one of the trees. One little boy (our babysitter's boy) took off running down the street. The other boy was frozen up by the mailbox. He didn't dare move. Paul started yelling and telling him that he was only nice once. The little boy was just shaking. Only about 4 squares of TP actually stuck to the tree. The little boy said "do you want me to climb up there and get it out". Paul said "No, I'll get it". When Paul came in the house he was laughing so hard. We could not believe that these little boys, only 9 years old, were toilet papering in the daylight. I take the babysitters kids to school in the mornings and I'm sure the one is so glad I haven't said anything to him yet.
I only toilet papered once when I was younger, it was one of my teacher's houses. The next day at school, he told us that he had watched us the entire time we were doing it. We (I can't remember who all was included in the 'we') felt so dumb.

Very cute... but innocent?
When we arrived at the babysitter's this morning the van doors were locked when Savanna tried to open it. She said 'damnit door'. And not in an angry way, just nicely. I said to her 'do not say that', and again she said 'damnit door'. It was so funny, but I couldn't let her see me giggle. I didn't know if it was better to call attention to it, or just leave it alone. I guess it could be worse. :)

Update
Hanley has had a little cough for about 2 1/2 weeks. She said she needed to go to the doctor and I kept telling her it would go away and she'd be fine. Monday night she was complaining about her ear hurting, then Tuesday morning she called me 2 times from school saying it hurt so so bad. I had so much to do at work that I could not leave. I had the nurse give her some Tylenol to help her make it through. Tuesday night I took her to the doctor and she had an ear infection. I felt so bad that I ignored her complaints.
It was my birthday last Saturday. We went out to lunch and didn't really do anything else. I didn't want Paul to buy me anything because I wanted to get a new eliptical machine for my birthday. I've wanted one forever, I hate my treadmill. Now we just have to assemble it, yuck.
The other day the kids had some little chocolate donuts before I got home. When I got home, the necklace I was wearing had little round wooden beads on it. Savanna pointed at each one and said 'chotlat donut, chotlat donut, chotlat donut' it was so funny.
Zachary busted his lip open the other day outside playing with his truck. He goes so fast pushing it around and slipped and fell. Luckily his teeth were ok. It gave me a scare though, everytime I see a bloody mouth I worry about the teeth.

Speaking of teeth, Hanley & Zachary had dentist appointments last week. Zachary would not let them even look in his mouth again. And there is no talking him into it. Hanley has never had a cavity but has not been brushing as long or as good the last 6 months and she ended up with 4 cavities. She cried when we left the office. She's always been very proud of having no cavities so she was sad. She's been doing her good routine ever since.
After the dentist appointment I took them to the movie, Race to Witch Mountain. We never go to movies, so they thought it was fun. I had 3 free passes that I got from work, so that made it worth it. It was a cute movie.

Easter
We went to Delta Saturday afternoon for Easter. We finally took our sandrail out to ride. We have had it for over 2 years and the only place it's been is around the block once in a while at home. We went to the little sandunes outside of town. Hanley rode her new little 4-wheeler and Zachary and my niece Lanie rode with Grandpa on his 4-wheeler. Every time we saw them Zachary had the biggest smile on his face. It was so cute. We will have to do it more often.

We didn't do the city Easter Egg Hunt before we left on Saturday since it was raining so I ended up having to do my own when we got home Sunday afternoon. The little neighbor boy was over so he joined us. They weren't quite sure what to do, so I had to tell Hanley to slow down so the little ones could catch up. They had fun.

Las Vegas
Paul and I went to Las Vegas a couple weekends ago. We dropped the kids off at my parents house. We had a good time. But wow, Vegas is so crazy busy. We went to a couple of shows. Nothing real grand or expensive, a little cheesey, but still fun.
V-The Ultimate Variety Show
It's really too bad how filthy the strip is. I would never take my children there. I was surprised how many families with small children were there. I think it's an adult only place. I'm glad we went, we needed a getaway, but I really am not dying to go back any time soon.
This is the top of the Stratosphere tower. I could barely get myself to stand at the edge.
