I got a call at work about 2:45 from Zachary's teacher telling me he had fallen off the monkey bars and hurt his arm. I told her that I'd be there as soon as I could and to get Hanley out of her class to come sit with him in the nurses office. When I got there he was laying down and Hanley was sitting by him. The nurse said that he felt so much better when she came in to be with him. When he saw me he started crying. I felt so bad. I called the pediatrician and asked if they do X-rays or if I needed to take him to Instacare. She said to bring him in about 45 minutes. We were going to stop by my father-in-laws house and wait there instead of going home then coming back to the clinic. On our way there we were sitting at a stop sign waiting for a truck to turn around us so we could go. He totally slidded into the ditch right next to us. So we made sure they were alright and waited around for the cops then went to his appt. When we were getting out of the car he burst into tears and said "do I have to get a shot?" I think most of his worry was just not knowing what they were going to do to him. We got there at 4:15, the doctor checked him out and sent us downstairs for an X-ray. Then we came back up and he got a cast on it. He had a buckle fracture just above his wrist. The doctor said it's the most common break and the monkey bars are the culprit a lot of the time with kids that age. After it was wrapped up he felt tons better and we left by 5:15. My mom and dad had come up to get a few things so we went to dinner with them. We saw an older boy with a cast on his arm at the doctor's office and another boy at the restaurant with a cast so at least he knew he wasn't the only one. It was quite the day for Zachary, I left him at the bus stop with tears from pulling his tooth out then picked him up with tears. My poor boy had a bad day.
That last picture was at the bus stop Tuesday morning, he was already excited to show it to everyone, he pulled his jacket sleeve up so everyone could see it.
