Mom & Son Date
Before school was out, Zachary and I had gone on a hike. I told him it was like we were on a mom and son date. He acted like I was crazy and weird for saying that. Then someone at school must have said something to him about going on a date with their own mom. Then he told me about it and must not have thought it sounded weird anymore. So, all summer he'd say things about it and want to go on a date, and a couple times he said "we could even go shopping". I think he just hoped our date would consist of a shopping spree for him. Last night he said "can we go on our date tomorrow?" So I told Paul that I had been asked out on a date and so I would be busy on Saturday. We went to the movie "Secret Life of Pets", it was really cute. Then we went to eat lunch and did some grocery shopping and a little school clothes shopping before going home. It was fun to spend some time with just him.

Apricots Galore
We have an apricot tree that is so huge and overgrown. But it still always has good apricots, even though they are a little on the small side. I went outside and picked this huge bowl full in just minutes. There are still a million on the tree. I'm sure most of them will just end up as deer food.

Motorcycle vs. Mini Van
As we pulled into a parking lot, a guy on a motorcycle started backing up and didn't look, and ran into the driver's door of my van. I couldn't believe it made this huge dent just by backing up using his feet.

St. George/Mesquite
We try to take the kids to Mesquite every year. Not for gambling (haha) but because it's cheap hotels, cheap food, and we spend lots of time swimming and bowling. It's just a fun getaway that we always have fun doing. And we always stop to see Paul's Aunt Dotie in St. George on the way.
This year we added a Tuacahn visit. We've never been and it was fun to see what it was all about. We saw Peter Pan.
We drove down on Tuesday, went to Tuacahn and stayed in St. George. The next day we stopped to see Paul's aunt before heading to Mesquite. Her daughter Shelley is staying there for a while and Paul hasn't seen her for over 30 years. Her 3 year old daughter Harmony loved having the kids there to play with.
Then we headed to Mesquite. We swam, bowled, ate, swam some more. The first night, some teenage hooligans pulled the fire alarm at 1:00 in the morning. It scared the crud out of everyone. The next day we ate, swam, bowled, hit the arcade, swam, ate and swam.
We headed home the next day and stopped again to see Paul's aunt. They told us that when Harmony first woke up, she was so excited because she knew it was the day that we were coming back to see them. Hanley was taking selfie's and Harmony came over to see what she was doing and started doing all of the facial expressions that Hanley did. It was really cute.
It's a low key getaway that I look forward to whenever we can make the time to go.

Hanley's 16th Birthday!!
Hanley turned 16 today!! It seems absolutely crazy to me that she's that old already. We bought her a big bouquet of balloons, ate out, ate cake and got her ears pierced. I think she thought it was a great day!

Camping with Cousins
We went camping with my cousin Laurie and her girls. It was really fun! We tried some new fun things to eat like corn on the cob cooked and pizza pockets both cooked on the grill. The kids swam in the river and we spent lots of time sitting in the shade relaxing with the dogs. We even took the kids up to put change on the train tracks.

My cousin took this amazing picture!
