Oh this girl...

Savanna is constantly telling me and Paul that she's a good girl. That's her way of getting out of trouble. This is what happened last night.

Savanna: I'm a good girl, huh mom?
Paul: No you're not!
Savanna (with more of a sad look on her face): I'm a good girl
Paul: No you're not!
Savanna (looking really sad): I'm not?

Then she burst out crying. It was so funny but she felt so bad I couldn't laugh. Paul told her he was kidding and she lifted her head up and smiled.

She got a hula hoop for Christmas and she calls it her 'hupa loop'. She had some underwear the other day that had little monkeys with hula hoops. She got all excited when she noticed them and said "the monkeys have hupa loops."

The kids love watching America's Funniest Home Videos. It was on the other day and at the beginning of one of the clips she said "oh this can't be good," knowing something was going to happen. She talks so grown up it's so funny.

Sledding, silly costumes and organizing

We took the kids sledding on Saturday on the hills just above our house. It was so fun. Paul and I hate the cold, but kids don't seem to care. They were so excited as we were getting their snow clothes on. When we got in the car Savanna said "I so excited". I took my camera and of course as soon as we got there, it had a dead battery. I kept trying and it finally let me take a couple pictures.

I was sorting through all of the clothes in Savanna's room that were too small and going through the clothes the babysitter has given to her to see what would fit. We found a couple of swimsuits and Savanna put one on over her clothes. It was so tight but she thought it was so pretty. She put on her fairy wings and wore it until bedtime. Then Zachary found an old Halloween witch costume and wore that.

I've been going through old kid clothes, our spare room and closets. I have so much random stuff that needs to be given to DI. I have given 12 bags full of stuff to DI in the last week and it feels so good to not have so much clutter sitting around. :)

Hanley did what?

Yesterday when I got home Savanna kept touching her bangs, and finally said 'Hanley cut my hair'. I said 'What??? Hanley did what?' Her bangs were only an inch long. I couldn't believe it. I called to Hanley and asked her why she did that. She said that Savanna got something stuck in her hair so she cut it out. Paul said 'why didn't you come to me and I could have helped?' She just shrugged her shoulders. She got a tarp tie thing out of the garbage with Savanna's hair in it. It totally could have been removed without cutting her hair. It would be one thing for Zach or Savanna to cut each others hair cause they don't know any better, but Hanley? Oh kids :)

This picture really doesn't show how short it is. Before the bangs were about 4 inches long stretched out.

Weekly Update

Last Saturday we took the kids to the see Monster Trucks at the E-Center. We didn't tell them where we were going. On the way up to Salt Lake, me and Paul kept saying 'yeah, I'm so excited.' Hanley was so mad that we wouldn't tell her anything. When we were walking into the E-Center she said 'are we going to a basketball game?' I said 'yes'. When we started walking down to our seats they were all so excited. I wasn't sure if our seats would be any good but they ended up being perfect. We were right by where BigFoot was parked and right in front of where the motorcylces would start.

This last week a family that I've been good friends with for a long time lost a daughter. It's been all over the news. When I hear of an officer killed in the line of duty, it's always sad. But to know the family really makes it real. I went to the viewing last Sunday night with my parents. It was supposed to start at 6 but there were already people in line so we arrived at 5:30. We were there for 1 1/2 hours before we got through the line to see her family. They had a big screen playing through pictures of her and just as we started watching it there was a picture of me, her and her sister that I was friends with growing up.

This is our dog Suzie. We used to have 3 dogs and they stayed outside all the time. Now that we only have her and she's so mellow, she's in the house a lot of the time. Mostly in the family room. The kids just love her and she's so good with them. Savanna has naps laying almost completely on her sometimes and she doesn't care. They always give her hugs and kisses and fight over whose dog she is. Savanna left a teddy bear on the couch the other day and Suzie got up to lay down (if someone is there and they leave their spot, she's pretty fast to steal it) and she layed right on it. We laughed cause it looked like it was her very own friend.

This is what I saw about every day last week when I got home from work. Savanna is getting so big that all of her pants are too tight and her little bumb sticks out the top.

Holidays

I can't believe it's January. I was so slow getting things ready for Christmas that I didn't have much time to just enjoy the holiday. In years past I would have most of my stuff bought and wrapped before Thanksgiving but this year I was still buying and wrapping a couple days before. Next year I vow to be done shopping and having the house decorated before Thanksgiving.

I did get to spend the entire week after Christmas at home. It was so nice to hang out with Paul and the kids for a week and just relax. Paige and Brynlie slept over on Christmas Eve and that was really fun. We don't see them much and Brynlie doesn't know us too well. So after spending the night she actually warmed up to us. Even though it went by too fast we had a good Christmas. We all opened new pajamas on Christmas Eve but I never did get a picture of everyone in them.
We always get lots of DVD's

We went to my parents house the day after Christmas. My older brother Robert is somewhere underneath this doggy pile. All of the kids go crazy when he shows up. It's so fun to watch them play together.

We made them actually sit still next to him, rather than jumping on him (for a few minutes anyway). I love how Savanna put her arm around Zachary and laid her head on his shoulder in this picture.
