Money
The other day Savanna bought some candy with her own money. Later she tells me that the lady at the store wasted all of her money. I said that she was the one who wasted her money. When you get things at the store you have to pay for them. The lady didn't take your money for no reason. Then I told her that she wants me to buy candy all the time and I don't always have money. She said "you have lots of money, you have a really big piggy bank."
Earl
We can't believe how stinking cute this new dog is. He's been so fun. He's learning so much from our other dog Cassie. It's cute to see him go up and down the stairs. He's learned that he loves people food. He loves the kids. When he's sleeping and we put a hand on him, he makes the cutest little groan sound. He just makes us smile.

Splash Pad
Savanna's was invited to a birthday party at a park with a Splash Pad. I took all of the kids and it was really fun. I couldn't believe how many people were there.

Top Floor
Savanna went into her room and saw Hanley's cat, Cookie, asleep on the top floor of her doll house. The house is actually empty from the day before when everything got taken away. Otherwise she wouldn't have had room in there.

Earl
I was outside watering on Monday when I heard Zachary say "hi" to our neighbor. Then I heard the neighbor ask Zachary if he wanted a puppy. I thought "oh crap!" Within about 10 minutes Zachary came walking back with a puppy hanging out of his arms. I told him to take it back and he said "Oh, no, it's OK, he told me I could have it." He's so cute we couldn't resist. My dad and brother ended up coming to see us yesterday and both took a puppy home too. We were going through a list of names and when I said "Earl", Paul and I looked at each other knowing that was the name that fit him.

Kaylee's Wedding
On Saturday we went to a luncheon for my cousin Kaylee's wedding. They seem so happy and we're so happy for them.

Happy 12th Birthday!
Hanley turned 12 today. Seems too crazy that it has been 12 years since she was born. We went swimming for her birthday and she brought a friend. She's super excited to finally be in Young Womens and out of primary. She wanted a birthday cake and we never bought one at the store. So late that night I was going to make one. I didn't have a cake mix so I looked through a cookbook. I only had just over a cup of flour so I had to find a recipe that didn't call for more than one. Then I dind't have a round cake pan big enough so it went over the edges. And it fell in the middle when I checked it. It was the saddest cake ever but still tasted OK.

Memory Lane
We've had a few boxes of slides and a projector in the basement that Paul's mom had us take home years ago. We finally got them out last night. We put a white sheet on the wall to view them on. The kids thought it was so neat to see pictures of Paul when he was little.

Sleeping
The kids rooms were so hot the other night so I let them sleep in my room. Usually the air conditioner that's in my room keeps the entire upstairs cool, but not with these temperatures being over 100. I've never seen Savanna sleep like this but she must have finally gotten cold.

Little Worker
A while ago I altered a pair of Paul's old overalls to fit Zachary. Every once in a while he will put them on but then takes them right off. He also got his very own hard hat from his Aunt Kerrie's friend. It even has his name on it. He got the overalls and hard hat on and kept asking me where he could work. He had one gardening glove on and a butter knife, flashlight, pliers, ruler and a bolt in the pockets of the overalls. I told him to just go in the backyard and pretend he was doing something. He said "I don't want to pretend, I really want to work." So Paul got some nails and his hammer and let Zachary try to put them into the side of the shed. He thought that was the neatest thing ever and he was so happy. He looked so cute.

Kitty
The kids and I went grocery shopping Saturday morning. There was a girl sitting outside the store with Free Kittens. Uggh.. Why did the kids have to see her? Anyway, we ended up with a new kitty. Hanley wanted a new puppy a while ago and I told her that we are NOT having 2 dogs at one time. At least with a cat (when they are out of little kitty stage anyway), they aren't quite as much work. They can roam around and it's not a big deal to leave them outside if you go away for a day or so. She is not at all afraid of our dog and you can tell Cassie just doesn't understand why the kitty isn't clawing at her. All day Saturday and Sunday Zachary would smile at me and say "I love her."

Fourth of July
We went to my parents early in the morning to make it for the parade. The kids got loads of candy. Afterwards we ate (lots), the kids swam, caught fish at the park, and swam some more. Some of us went to the Demolition Derby and some stayed home and rested (I was in that group). My Grandma and Aunt & Uncle and lots of cousins came over as well. We got to see our neice J.T. who just returned from Afghanistan a couple weeks ago. To end the night we watched awesome fireworks right across the street.
