Vegetables

Savanna: Mom, I eat grass.
Me: Oh, well, I used to eat grass when I was a little girl, too.
Savanna: Really? You know, it's a vegetable. Like salary (celery) and latice (lettuce).

More Crafts

Hanley wanted to make a boat for her extra credit star points. They are studying Vikings and such. She started on it last night and will finish it tonight.
Zachary and Savanna just had to do something as well so they painted some big popsicle sticks.

Toilet Paper Puppets

We found some cute cutouts and made puppets out of toilet paper rolls.

Sleeping in Style

Savanna laid on the couch listening to an iPod and was asleep within minutes.

Kids

Gus

This is Grandpa Seat's cat, Gus. He's huge. His head is huge, his paws are huge, he's just a big cat. He's the most laid back cat I have ever seen. He lets the kids maul him, he just thinks he's getting pets.

Dad's Birthday

It's my dad's birthday today. I made a little video of the kids singing to him. Happy Birthday Dad!! We Love You!!

Projects

We went to the school for Hanley's SEP conference (parent/teacher conf). She had a cute picture hanging in the hall and a fun sculpture on her desk. She's quite the little artist.

Fluffy

Zachary had a turn to bring Fluffy home from his class and he got to have a sleepover with us. Then he wrote in his journal about the fun time he had at our house.

Love Notes

Zachary wrote this note to a girl in his class. One day he told me that he kissed a girl. I said "What?? where?" He said "on the playground." I said "no, did you kiss her on the lips or the cheek." He said "I didn't really kiss a girl." But I don't know if he just said that cause he knew I was mad. He's too young to like girls this much.
Then he got a box and put stuff in it for Paul and wrote this note. I love that he's becoming such a good writer.

Ride

Sunday afternoon we took the kids for a ride up Spanish Fork Canyon. We stopped at the sand rocks to play a while. Paul took Hanley up to the sun stone while I stayed at the bottom with Zachary and Savanna. We also saw a bunch of wild turkeys.

Sleepover

Paul had to take a boys baseball team to Moab for an overnighter so me and the kids went to my parents on Friday night to visit. The kids were so excited to see "the cousins".

Chicken

Savanna (pretending to be a waitress): What do you want to eat? Chicken?
Mom: Sure
Savanna: We have Lion Chicken.
Mom: Eww that sounds weird.
A few minutes later.
Savanna: So did you want chicken? We now have Cat Chicken.... (starts to laugh) someone just killed a cat.

Drums

I thought I had given these darn drums to DI. He found them in a bag in the basement. He added a lid from a pan and some metal mixing bowls.

Experiment

I found an experiment I knew my kids would love on this blog. You put a half of an Ivory soap bar in the microwave and it expands... a lot!

Clothes

The kids are always seeing little dog outfits at the store when we pass the pet isle and say we should get something for our dog. Even though the outfits they see are for little tiny dogs. So today they wanted to put a regular shirt on her. We couldn't tell if she thought she was really neat, or if she thought she was being picked on. But she likes any attention, so she probably didn't mind.
