Santa Clause

I had to run grab a few things from Walmart and we found Santa Clause. Zachary and Savanna didn't even have their hair combed, but I made them sit on his lap anyway. I even made Hanley go talk to him. The girl that was taking pictures said "Oh, she's going to hate you!" She was a good sport though.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving at my Aunt Sue's house. It's always fun to see her family and hang out with mine too. The food was fabulous and we had a great time.

Free Pizza

Zachary and Savanna both got a certificate for a free personal pizza from Pizza Hut with their reading calendars from October. They were so excited. I had to laugh at Savanna. She didn't want to take time to find a coat so she grabbed her superwoman snuggie and slipped on her cowboy boots and we headed out. Sidenote on the boots: They used to be Zachary's and he hardly ever wore them and now they are too small. So we gave them to her. She loves them.

Thankful For

The kids in Savanna's class all had to take something to school that they are thankful for and it had to start with the first letter of their first name. So Savanna took a pair of Shoes. The teacher was taking a picture of each kid with their item.

Deer

There are always deer running around our neighborhood. In the early morning and late afternoon you have to be very cautious driving out of the town. A few days ago on the way home, there were a bunch running in front of me and they didn't know which way to go. Some went right, some stayed straight, and some went left. We just went really slow so I could take a picture of them before they all ran away.

Snow

We got hit with a big snow storm on Friday and the weekend. I left work early on Friday knowing it was going to be bad at my house. I didn't leave early enough though, the snow was already sticking on the road as I got closer to home. I was on the way up the hill with good momentum when a small truck pulled out in front of me. They couldn't get going at all so I had to try to stop while they were swerving all over. We both came to a stop within about 4 inches of each other. Then I barely could get going again. I made it just a few blocks from home and just could not go anymore. I pulled into someone's driveway (barely) and had to sit there for at least a half hour before the snow plows came by. Then 2 ladies pushed me out of the driveway and they both feel flat on their faces. They had to push me a little to get going back up the hill then I finally made it home, slipping the entire way. I usually have studded snow tires on but procrastinated this year and haven't done it yet. Needless to say I will be getting some put on this week before the next storm. Paul said that every single stop he made in the bus he was sliding. It was a terrible day to be out.

Beehive

Hanley was called yesterday to be the 2nd Counselor in the Beehive Presidency. They had all the parents come in while they set apart the new Presidency. I think she's excited to be part of it.

Teeth Pulled

Hanley had three baby teeth pulled yesterday to get her prepared for braces. All three were on different areas of her mouth so they had to numb three different places. When she realized she'd have to get so many shots she got really nervous. I asked her if she wanted the happy gas and she said yes. The doctor told her that she controls how much she gets, if she wants more to breath in deep through her nose, if she needs less then breath through her mouth. She said that when she saw the needle she took a huge breath through her nose. She was a little silly but she was a trooper and it was much better than she thought it'd be.

Zachary's Baptism

Zachary got baptized last Saturday. He has been looking forward to this ever since his cousin Lanie got baptized. He asked his Uncle Robert, my brother, to baptize him and he was so excited to have everyone over to the house afterwards to play.

Halloween/Savanna turns 6

It was Savanna's birthday last Wednesday on Halloween. She was so excited to wear her costume to school. She was a Zombie Cheerleader. Zachary was a Dead MotoCross Rider and Hanley just wore black lipstick and painted stitches all over her. I went to the costume parades at school and then we went trick or treating around the neighborhood. We only went around 3 blocks and the little kids each ended up with a big zip-loc bag full of candy. Hanley and her friend went and at one house, the lady said "congratulations, you are the winner" and dumped her entire bowl into Hanley's bag. They had a blast. We ended the night with baths and sang Happy Birthday to Savanna.

Zachary turns 8

It was Zachary's birthday last Tuesday. He turned 8. I took some treats to his class at school and they sang to him. The kids with their hands on their heads are candles. He walked by them and "blew them out." We took the kids bowling that night to celebrete his and Savanna's birthdays.
