Grandma's backyard

We stopped at Paul's parents house on Saturday to visit. The kids love playing over there. Although most of the time they were fighting over this 4-wheeler. As soon as one of them would get off, the other one would hop on.

Kids

On Saturday I took a blanket outside for the kids to sit on and play. The little neighbor boy was over and they had so much fun. They drank their Capri Suns and ate corndogs.

Hamsters on the move

The hamsters were outgrowing the wheel that the mom had them in. I took them all out and put them in the cage. Mom wasn't too happy but the babies were running around and eating the regular food. They seemed so happy to be out of the confiment that she was keeping them in. We've been telling Savanna that there were babies in there, but you really couldn't see them. So when she saw one of the babies, and then the mom she was so excited saying "Mom, Another one, another one." It was so cute.

They are now big enough to find a new home (come on Mike, let the kids have one). I have found a pet store that will take them but am hoping a couple can find homes before then.

Father's Day

We had a BBQ at our house on Sunday afternoon with Paul's family. I didn't take any pictures but all went well. Paige came over later to visit. Brynlie is getting so big.

Father's Day - Delta

We went to Delta to see my family on Friday. The kids always have so much fun together. They played in the pool for hours when we got there.

Week 1: 1 Hamster, Week 2: Oh no!

A week ago last Friday Hanley calls me at work from the babysitter's saying that Quinton (the babysitter's boy) had brought home a hamster from someone that was selling them but Karen won't let him keep it, so "can I have it?" I told her we'd talk about it when I got home. Of course she wouldn't stop asking, we finally said yes. We went to the store and got a cage and all of the needed items (she's still doing chores to work off the expense). The hamster was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, about the size of a mouse. About 5 days later, all the sudden it was really fat. On Sunday Zachary wanted to get her out of her cage so I took her out, and underneath her was 6 little babies (that's what we quickly counted, I hope that is all). I hurry and put her back, she was running around all mad that I had moved her. We haven't seen the babies since, she's kept them hidden underneath the little stairs that are in the cage. She's been hauling wood shavings in and making a good spot for them. I guess we won't see them until they are big enough to get out of hiding by themselves.

Paul's Birthday

Paul's birthday was on Sunday. He doesn't really like regular cake so I made him a cheesecake. Paige came over to visit and we sang Happy Birthday to him. I only had 1 candle in the house so that's all he got. Of course we would have burned the cake if we had put the real amount on it. :) We got him a few small things but he wants to get a new helicopter or something else fun from Hobbytown, so we still need to go pick out what he wants.

Things we see on a walk...

My kids love to go for walks around our neighborhood. These are some of the things I see.

Savanna's cute little legs in her dress and tennis shoes (and messy hair of course).

The beautiful mountains.
The wildlife. The kids get so excited when we see deer.
We also saw some chuckers but they ran into the trees too fast to get a picture.

Zachary on his trike.

Paige's Graduation

We are so proud of Paige for graduating high school. Going from a junior that was already heading in the direction of not graduating and very depressed, then getting pregnant, she has really done an amazing job. It's such a great thing that there is a school that provides young mother's a place to finish high school and provide daycare so that these young women don't have to continue down the wrong road. Paige has completely turned her life around. She's so great and smart and we are so happy that she has come this far. There is a program that gave away 16 scholarships throughout the high schools in our district (I think there are about 19). Paige got one of them. We are so proud and I know she is so proud of herself for doing so well. She is planning on going to college at UVU and majoring in English and becoming a teacher. It's not going to be easy but she really has the determination and ability to do accomplish anything she wants.

Brynlie wasn't very happy, she's teething.

Zachary's Preschool Program

I'm a little behind on posting. Zachary had his preschool program 2 weeks ago. When I walked in there were lots of parents sitting there waiting and he kept looking around, I think wondering where his mom was. When he saw me he kept saying to his teacher (so excitedly) "there's my mom"! He sang the songs, did all the actions, it was really cute. He just smiled and smiled.

He will continue to go 2 days a week through the summer and preschool again next year since he won't be 5 until the end of October, he won't start Kindergarten until next year. But in the fall he has to go to a different preschool. The teacher he has now is doing a new program next year and all the kids have to be moved. I'm really sad about it but I've heard the teachers at the other school are fantastic. So hopefully we'll both adjust to the change.

Nice.. the little girl in the back is picking her nose. :)
