Park

We went to the store on Saturday and decided to take a little drive afterwards. We stopped at a park and let the kids play for a while.

Snake

Hanley went to her friends house on Saturday while they were having a yard sale. I got a text from her friends mom with this picture. Hanley was holding their snake.

Larry Guthrie

The kids have watched Tooth Fairy 2 many times this week and the main characters name is Larry Guthrie. This morning Savanna was playing with a little toy lady bug (the dogs toy) and said "Come on Larry Guthrie." She looked at me and laughed and said "this is Larry Guthrie."

That little girl

Hanley: "It's that little girl who scratched it."
Savanna: "Hanley, you know my name, I'm not 'that little girl.'"
Hanley walks away.
Savanna: "It's like she doesn't even know who I am."

Sick Mom

Thursday morning I woke up with a terrible sore throat and a throbbing headache. I didn't sleep well because I was worried about Zachary not feeling good. I went to work and by the afternoon I was FREEZING so I finally went home and laid down. After a few hours I took my temperature and it was 100.4. Not terrible but not great either. I took some Ibuprofen and laid down for the rest of the evening. My sore throat was even worse this morning. I haven't felt feverish so hopefully it'll be gone soon. I hate being sick!

Mutant Strawberry

Hanley was cutting up some strawberries this morning when she found this. It's like 4 in 1.

Sick Kids

Savanna told me that her ears hurt one day, then the next day she said they were fine, then the next they hurt, etc... Then on Tuesday morning Zachary said his stomach hurt. I sent him to school anyway. When I picked him up, as soon as he saw me he started crying. He really didn't feel good and I felt awful for making him go. I stayed home with him on Wednesday and took them both to the doctor. He had a fever Tuesday and Wednesday but they couldn't see anything wrong with him. Savanna did have an ear infection. This morning they both seemed fine so hopefully they have a good day today.

Kids say funny things...

In the car yesterday we heard "Savanna, smell my finger."

Zachary saw an older man with a bald head on top and white hair all around it. He said to me "what happened to that guys hair?" I said "sometimes when you get old you lose your hair." About 20 minutes later he said "so... he just lost his hair?" He really didn't know what to think about it.

Starting her homework, Savanna said "Let's do this thing!"

New Glasses

We ordered some new glasses for Zachary last week and he was so excited when they arrived. They are the same prescription he had before but we got better lenses and I think he likes them better.

Technology

We visited Grandpa Seat yesterday. He's amazed at the technology in the iPad, Kindle and my phone. Hanley was showing him some games and he even played a few.

 

Artist

Hanley is quite the little artist. She always has little doodles on her homework.

35

I turned 35 on Wednesday. It sounds so old. I know I'll look back in years and say "oh I wish I was 35 again", but right now it stinks. I'm no longer "early 30's". Ugghhh.. Paul picked me up at work and took me to lunch. It was fun. I told him not to get me a birthday cake but when I went to the store with the kids they kept saying that we needed a cake. So we bought a small one. Paul insisted that we put 35 candles on it. It was quite the flame. I'm surprised I didn't start my hair on fire when I blew out the candles.

Book Fair

I took the kids to the book fair at their school this morning. It was buy one, get one free so they each got 2 books. Hanley also got a couple pencils and Zachary & Savanna got a poster. They were all super excited.

Another Lost Tooth

Zachary lost another bottom tooth yesterday. He wouldn't let me look while he was pulling it out. He said "I'm doing it" and ran into the bathroom and shut the door. He was a happy boy.

Spring Break

It was so nice to be able to take the week off of spring break. I did work a little from home but on my own schedule. We got the 4-wheelers out one of the days. Paul did some donuts in the gravel then after that Zachary kept doing it.

On Friday Paul had to drive a bus load of kids from the school down to Parowan to a Drama Festival. Hanley went with him and they were bored out of their minds watching all these little plays. Hanley did make a friend so that helped. Then on the drive home on Saturday they had to come through a terrible snow storm and for 60 of the miles could only go 30 mph. There were crashes everywhere. They didn't get home until midnight.

While they were gone I got lots of de-cluttering done in the house and got Zachary's blanket sewn and Savanna's pinned and ready to sew.

Camping

We took the kids camping for a night during spring break. They were so excited. They played on the playset, played in the water and roasted marshmallows. When they were roasting marshmallows, Zachary said "Today is a good day!" They had a blast.

Happy Easter

We went to my parents for Easter. The kids had so much fun playing, coloring eggs, riding bikes, having an easter egg hunt, and helping clean out Grandma's flower garden (well, that part may not have been fun, but they did it anyway), and sitting in the big rig that Grandpa was cleaning.

100 Dollars

Zachary helped me clean up some pine needles the other day and I told him I'd give him some money. After we were done he said "OK, give me a hundred dollars."
