B is for ....

Savanna got a new set of Junie B. Jones books for Christmas from one of her cousins. I was in the kitchen and she was in the living room and I heard her start to read it. She does pretty good sounding things out and figuring out what it says. I heard her say "My name is Junie B. Jones. The B stands for bbbbbbastard." I went in the living room and said "what did you say?" She said "B stands for bastard." I told her "no, B stands for Beatrice." She said "oh, I thought it said bastard." It was so funny.

Cousins

Me and the kids went down to my parents house Friday night. I desperately needed my hair done. The cousins always have so much fun together. I didn't take any pictures so when we were getting ready to leave, I made all the kids stand together at the front door. We were just missing Trenton.

Ice Castles

We took the kids to see the Ice Castles in Midway. It was crazy busy and we had to wait in line for about an hour. There were Disney princesses that the kids could get pictures with so that helped during the long wait. It was fun and the kids thought it was really neat. If we ever go again, we'd definitely not go on a holiday.

Tissue Notes

Savanna always writes me cute little notes. She gave me this one written on a tissue. She's so sweet.

Slick Roads

This morning when I left there was just a skiff of snow on the ground. I got the kids to school and once I got to the freeway it was completely stopped. We'd go about 5 mph, then stop, then go, then stop. I passed three separate accidents in about seven miles. A drive that usually takes me 25 minutes at the most took me an hour. I was so happy to finally get to work and off of the roads.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

I went to Zachary and Savanna's Parent Teacher Conferences today. Both teachers said they were excellent in reading and math and both were such great students that are happy and helpful and kind. They fight like crazy at home, so I guess if they act like that sometimes, I'd rather they do it at home than at school. The teachers didn't have one criticism about either one of them. I'm so proud!

Savanna had a couple cute papers hanging outside of the class on the wall.

Getting Ready for Braces

Hanley had an an orthodontist appointment to get pictures and molds to get ready to get her braces next month. I was snapping pictures and she was so mad. On this first picture, she said "really??" when she saw that I had my camera up. She said "I'm going to kill you!" I told her afterwards that she shouldn't say that in front of other people. Even though I know she's kidding, I'm sure the orthodontist or nurse was surprised to hear her say that.

Extras

Here are the little "extras" from Christmas break.

Hanley's "selfies".

Savanna and her dog.

Zachary going coyote hunting with Grandpa. As happy as he was Christmas morning.

Christmas socks.

Christmas morning monkey bread.

Fireworks for New Year's Eve.

Custom Nike's

For Christmas, Nu Skin gave us a gift card to make our own custom Nike shoes. I created mine online and ordered them and was excited to get them 2 days before Christmas.

Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's House

We went to my parents for a couple nights after Christmas. We did our gift exchange of the names we had drawn and got presents from my parents. We put puzzles together and ate a lot. My mom did a fun basket for the girls with a big mixing bowl, recipe and ingredients for the recipe, a nice blanket, cookbook and a few other fun things. And all the men got some ammo and candy from my dad.
