Weekend
Hanley and Paige went to a concert Friday night so Brynlie slept over at our house. We took the kids out to dinner then to see the new Goosebumps 2 movie. Saturday morning, Savanna went to a rock climbing activity with the Activity Day group. So we took Zach and Brynlie to the dump with us to get rid of some old couches that we've had in our family room. Then we picked up a couple of barrels. We have a huge pile of pine needles in our backyard that have been put there over the years and we finally got them cleaned up. Most of them we burned in a barrel, but there were too many to burn them all. We bagged the rest and we'll slowly get rid of them in our weekly garbage pickup. We cleaned out the shed as well. It's amazing how much junk and dirt collects over time. It felt good to get some cleanup done. Notice the nice new green barrel that now looks like it's years old after a few hours of burning. Our little Booger dog wouldn't stop following us around (since we got rid of the old couches they aren't allowed in the family room anymore, so they have been feeling picked on).

Fall Break - Day 4 - Perrine Bridge / Shoshone Falls / Home
Before we drove home we went to see the Shoshone Falls and Perrine Bridge. We were sad that the falls were dry, but it was still neat to see. The Perrine Bridge was fun to walk out on and so pretty underneath. There were a group of people base jumping off of it and that was fun to watch. We're glad we checked out those things before we headed home.

Fall Break - Day 3 - Craters of the Moon
On Day 3, we drove from Idaho Falls to Craters of the Moon National Monument. It was about 1 1/2 hour drive. It is miles of old lava flows. There are cool rocks and plants and trees. There are trails that you can walk on to get to a few different caves that you can go in to. It was fun. After that, we drove another 1 1/2 hours to Twin Falls to stay for the night.

Fall Break - Day 2 - Bear World
On Day 2, we drove to Yellowstone Bear World. You drive through an area that has elk, deer, big horn sheep and a few other animals. Then you enter an area where the adult bears are. There are 71 bears. We then went to the gift shop and bought a few things. There is a petting zoo, a pond with ducks and big trout, and a couple small amusement park rides. We spent lots of time there. Savanna put a quarter in the machine to get food to feed the animals at the petting zoo, and as soon as she started to turn the knob, a goat came over and lifted up the cover with it's nose and started eating the food. It was so funny. There were 6 baby bears that you could get up to about 8 feet from them. They were darling, but after the entire season, they weren't super tiny. It was fun to watch them play. One of the babies was digging a hole right by the fence. He saw one of the workers walking towards him and he hurried and walked away like he wasn't digging. He looked at her as she walked by, and as soon as she was gone, he went back to digging. It was hilarious. We signed up to do a Wildlife Excursion. There is a big truck that you stand in and it takes you back through where the adult bears are and you can feed them. It was fun to get up that close to the big bears. We stayed the night in Idaho Falls. We found a little mexican food place to eat dinner and a cute little ice cream shop for a treat before swimming at the hotel.
