Happy Birthday Zachary!!

Zachary is nine today and it seems absolutely unbelievable! He's such a kind kid, onery sometimes, but really loves to make people happy. He's great in school, always helpful and respectful. He loves to ride bikes and skateboards. I love this boy!

Hanley's Fall Choir Concert

Hanley is in Concert Choir this year so we had to rent a dress for her. They performed a lot of fun songs.

Viewing and Service

We had John's viewing and service on Saturday. It was great to see all of the people come through the viewing and show their support. The service was really nice and it was nice to see John's sisters and a few of Paul's cousin's. They also did the Military Rites after.

Long weekend

I had 2 days off with the kids for Fall Break. I worked until 11:00pm on Wednesday night so that hopefully I wouldn't have to do as much on Thursday and Friday. I worked most of the day Thursday and then things got really busy. I was going to go to my parents house on Friday and stay the night. Kathy, my sister-in-law called me at 10:30 Thursday night saying that my mom was going in the ambulance up to Provo because her heart was in Afib (beating fast and irregular) and they couldn't get it out. I went to see her Friday morning. My dad wasn't there because he was elk hunting and didn't even know she was there. Finally about 2:00pm, Kathy drove out to where he was huting to tell him. I got home about noon. At 1:00pm we got a call from Paul's brother saying that "his dad was on his way out so we better come see him." Then Friday night I went back to the hospital to see my mom. We were hoping she would get out on Saturday morning and I was going to drive her home and stay the night with the kids. Saturday she ended up finding out that she couldn't go home until Sunday. We got a call about 7:00pm from Paul's brother saying his dad had passed away at 6:00pm that night. Sunday we met with the mortuary to talk about the plans for the funeral and my mom was able to go home too.

So it was a crazy crazy weekend. I'm so busy at work this week with tons to do. Now I have to help Zachary decorate a pumpkin like Stuart Little for his book report, write an obituary, write a summary of John's life history, gather pictures for the slide show during the viewing and make funeral programs. Among all the work stuff I have to do. It'll be a busy week.

Hogle Zoo

I went to the zoo with Zachary and his class. We weren't there very long but it was still fun to see all the animals. It was fun to see the new part where you see under the water and can see seals and a polar bear swimming around. It was neat.

Chatterbox

Savanna is a little talker. She talks and talks and talks. She's so funny and comes up with the silliest things. Sometimes we ask her if she ever stops talking. She says "I don't talk in school." So I guess when she's home she is making up for it. Yesterday she said to me "mom, do you know why I talk all the time?" I asked her why. She said "It's just my thing." She has the cutest personality.

Cornbelly's

I went on a field trip with Savanna. I was in charge of four kids from the class. There were tons of fun little things for the kids to do. After they did a few things I talked them into going into the corn maze. They weren't real excited but I thought they'd like it after we got going. There were 10 stops in the maze with questions to answer that'd help you go the right direction. We got to number 3 and could NOT find number 4. I looked at the time and realized they were already late for lunch, they were supposed to eat at 11:30am. We knew there was no way we'd make it to the end so we started to go back the way we came. They were dying of tiredness and one kid said "we are going to have to sleep here and eat corn." I kept telling them it was an adventure but they didn't care. We finally got out at noon and went over to eat. The teacher came to me and said "I wondered what happened to you." She got a good laugh. The kids rested and ate their lunch then were ready to play again until it was time to leave. I'm glad I got to spend some time with Savanna and have a funny memory to remember.

Lazy Day

Getting Some Sun

Cassie, Bugar and Earl getting some sun. I had to get a picture of them all in a row.

About Savanna

Savanna brought home this cute book of things about her. Her family, how she looks when she wakes up in the morning and her favorite food (mac 'n' cheese of course).

Just for Fun

I was checking to see if my camera had enough battery for the field trip so Savanna gave me a couple shots of her. She's so silly.

Snow

I woke up last Thursday and let the dogs out and about died to see about 1 1/2 inches of snow covering the grass and trampoline. I hope it holds off for at least a month before we get any more. I'm not ready for the cold and yuck.

Yard

Paul mowed the lawn over the weekend and I hate to think that it'll soon be covered with snow and will be yucky for months. I love our yard when it's green. Our kids (and cats) love to climb on the rocks.

Selfie's

Hanley is always taking pictures with my phone to put on her Instagram. She's not going to be too happy that I put them on here, but it's something cute that I want to remember. She's beautiful!

Compliment

Savanna's teacher called me yesterday to ask if I was going to be on the field trip. Right after I hung up the phone, she called back and said "I just wanted to tell you that I love having Savanna in my class. She is so fun and sweet and such a great student. I just love her."

She absolutely LOVES school and loves to learn anything new.

Little Notes

Savanna has been reading really good and loves to write little notes. She gave me this note that she made for me and Paul.

Pictures

Savanna loves to take pictures and uses one of my old cameras. She told me to take all the pictures off so she could take more. There were about 100 pictures of a Curious George episode and about 50 of a book she was looking at. Love that girl!
