Pioneer Day

We took the kids swimming on Friday. Hanley has been bugging us to go forever. It was a lot of fun. It's a really nice pool with a lazy river, slides, and a fun area for little kids.

Zachary is such a poser for pictures. I love how he puts his arm around Savanna.

We went to Paul's parents for fireworks. I brought some poppers and some glow sticks. The kids had fun.

Savanna's squinting cause the flash was so bright.

Hanley's Birthday

We went to Delta Friday to celebrate Hanley's birthday and pick her up from her stay with my parents. She had a good time. I finally gave in and bought her the bright pink iPod shuffle that she's been wanting. She was so excited.

We sang Happy Birthday and ate cake
Before we left on Saturday the kids swam and it ended up with a waterfight with the kids and my dad and my sister-in-law Kathy. They were all completely soaked.

When we were getting in the car to leave my parents neighbor was riding by on a horse and Savanna got so excited. He came over and gave her and Zachary a ride. They thought it was the neatest thing ever.

Hanley's Birthday

Today is Hanley's 9th birthday. She went down to my parents house last Sunday and I'm taking Zachary & Savanna down tonight to pick her up. I'll take some balloons and a cake so we can celebrate.

Zachary

Last night when I did my kid-check before I went to bed, I had to laugh when I saw Zachary. He doesn't always sleep like this but has at times ever since he was a baby. I had to take a picture.

Savanna

I just have to document these cute little things she says since this is my journal.

Savanna is the funniest little girl. She acts so much older than she is. Once she hears something it's sucked into that little brain like a sponge. When we were at my parents for the 4th of July, she was in my moms sewing room and saw her thimble collection. We told her what they were. The other day I was fixing her hair and she had the little lid off of the bottle of detangling spray (looks like a thimble). She put it on her finger and said 'my simble'. She walked around with it on her finger 'my simble'.

When I was getting ready Monday morning she had a little bag and put it on her shoulders like a backpack. She says 'I'm going to work, see you later'. She went downstairs and then came back in a few minutes. She acted out of breath and says 'sorry I'm late' then 'I had fun on the bus'.

4th of July

We went to Delta for the holiday. It was lots of fun. As soon as we arrived the kids got put on their swimming suits and got in the pools. We went to the parade Saturday morning. The kids got way too much candy. Savanna would get mad when she'd go to pick up a piece and some other kid would grab it. Then one time she grabbed about 5 pieces and there was another little girl trying to get some. I told her to let that girl have some and she held it tight and said 'NO! don't wan-nu'. She's such a little stinker. We had a BBQ afterwards then went to the Demolition Derby. They oversell this thing like crazy and there are people standing everywhere. At least it wasn't hot and actually rained at one point. The fireworks are done right across the street from my parents house so we get the best view in town.

My niece was in Kuwait for a year and has been back since February but I haven't had a chance to see her until this weekend. I am so glad she's back.

It was my nephew Mikey's 3rd birthday.

Zachary was having so much fun with my older brother.
He just had to sit by him at the Derby.

My Grandma came down for the day with my aunt & uncle.
